Then, her right to bare arms,
Her legs,
Now…her hair.
Why Michelle Obama’s Hair Matters
When I typed in Michelle Obama for a Google search, the terms ‘gown’, ‘inauguration dress’, ‘arms’, ‘hair’, ‘height’, ‘looks like a monkey’ all come up. Not once did terms regarding her as an accomplished professional or dedicated mother appear.
In 2009, we are still reducing a woman’s worth to her anatomy. I wonder if the root of all this chatter is another part of her anatomy… her skin.
